Steamed & Saucey

Southern food is notorious for a reason; it’s way better than Yankee food. I always have a to do list of places to eat when I get home and I’ve already made a few priority stops. First was Momma Goldberg’s Deli, a sandwich shop founded in Auburn that’s begun expanding throughout the south.

Momma G’s specializes in steamed sandwiches and their famous nachos. I also love that you always get a fun plastic cup to take with you; I’ve accumulated quite the collection in my cabinet.

The fried chicken I look forward to when I come home isn’t what most people expect from the south. My restaurants of choice serve fried chicken tenders with an amazing dipping sauce.

My local stop is Tenders! with their special sauce and Texas toast it’s one of my favorite meals. Zaxby’s and Raising Cane’s are chains with similar menus, but Tenders! has the southern charm I enjoy with my dining experience.
