I love Disneyland. To me, Las Vegas is just Disneyland with alcohol. Therefore, as someone who enjoys the occasional cocktail, I also love Vegas. My mom and I decided to meet in sin city for her birthday to spend five days shopping, eating, and relaxing. It was my first time seeing Carrot Top at the Luxor and Penn & Teller at The Rio. Even though my mom had seen each several times before, we both really enjoyed the shows.
Our favorite stops to satisfy the shopping bug are the Miracle Mile Shops, The Forum Shops, and The Fashion Show. While those are realistic for our budget, it is still fun to wander through The Grand Canal Shoppes and The Shops at Crystals.
My two favorite meals of the trip were at BurGR and The Sugar Factory in the Paris. We visited Gordon Ramsay’s burger joint in Planet Hollywood for lunch and got there right when it opened to avoid the inevitable line that appears within an hour of opening. The Hog Burger was delicious! The sweetness of the apple butter really complimented the savory mangalitsa pork. The truffle Parmesan fries were also amazing.
I have a serious sweet tooth, so everything at The Sugar Factory looked superb, including the sugary cocktails. At lunch, it was a little early to start drinking for me. After finally narrowing down many tempting choices, we enjoyed a delectable dessert.
In order to unwind from all the shopping and eating, we treated ourselves to a little pampering. To kick off mom’s birthday we received the indulgent Bellagio Signature Manicure and Pedicure. Closing out our vacation, we tried the aqua massages at the Zen Zone in the Miracle Mile Shops. I really enjoyed the relaxation of a massage, without being touched by a stranger. Now, reality awaits.
